Jeppesen ForeFlight and GE Aerospace Collaborate to Deliver End-to-End Airline Fuel Savings Solution

May 14, 2026

EVENDALE, Ohio & DENVER – April 30, 2026 – Jeppesen ForeFlight and GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE) today announced a collaboration that brings together GE Aerospace’s flight data analytics platform with Jeppesen ForeFlight’s Cost Index Optimization solution. Combined, these solutions offer airlines a continuous fuel efficiency workflow that spans pre-flight planning, in-flight optimization, and post-flight analysis to identify fuel savings opportunities.

Jet fuel represents 25 to 30 percent of airline operating costs and prices have grown increasingly volatile. For airlines seeking to manage fuel spend more effectively, lack of data is rarely the problem; it’s connecting data across the tools and workflows that can act on it. GE Aerospace and Jeppesen ForeFlight will directly address this challenge by creating a single, integrated path between two complementary capabilities: GE Aerospace’s large-scale flight data processing infrastructure, including Fuel Insight solution, and Jeppesen ForeFlight’s in-flight optimization platform.

“The technology to optimize fuel burn on every commercial flight already exists. What has been missing is a fast, simple way to connect an airline’s operational data to the tools that act on it,” said Martin Kemp, Vice President, Product Commercial Flight Deck. “This collaboration with GE Aerospace closes that gap for our mutual customers.”
“This collaboration helps to give airlines a practical way to improve efficiency and reduce fuel costs,” said Andrew Coleman, President and General Manager, GE Aerospace, Software as a Service. “Integrating GE Aerospace’s flight data analytics with Jeppesen ForeFlight’s optimization tools enables airlines to act on data more effectively and drive measurable performance improvements.”

How the Collaboration Works

GE Aerospace’s flight data services, including Fuel Insight and FlightPulse(R), extract valuable insights from routine flight data and allow operators to continuously improve the safety and efficiency of their operation. Fuel Insight gives operations teams visibility into fleet-wide fuel trends, identifying where and how savings are being realized or missed. FlightPulse puts that same data directly into pilots’ hands through personalized post-flight analytics, allowing them to see their own performance trends over time.

Jeppesen ForeFlight’s Cost Index Optimization feature within FliteDeck Pro delivers tail-specific fuel efficiency guidance in the tool pilots already use in flight. This capability models its recommendations by analyzing millions of cruise data points to identify the cost index that delivers the lowest fuel burn in flight. Operators using Jeppesen ForeFlight’s in-flight guidance have reduced cruise fuel burn by 1-2% per flight.

The integrated approach delivers three key benefits for participating airlines:

  • Speed. Airlines can move from initial agreement to live, in-cockpit fuel optimization guidance in a fraction of the time previously required. Data that already flows through GE Aerospace’s platform is connected directly to Jeppesen ForeFlight’s optimization engine, eliminating weeks of manual data coordination.
  • Simplicity. A single flow of data, using existing security and governance controls, reduces manual effort while keeping operational data secure.
  • Comprehensive. When combined, FliteDeck Pro and FlightPulse present a holistic view of pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight savings opportunities and attainment. Operations teams see the full picture through Fuel Insight. Pilots see their own impact through FlightPulse. And in the cockpit, Cost Index Optimization provides the guidance that turns insight into action.

Jeppesen ForeFlight’s Cost Index Optimization solution is fully integrated with FliteDeck Pro, the electronic flight bag used by over 80% of commercial airline pilots worldwide. The solution provides fuel-optimal speed guidance calibrated to each individual aircraft, enabling measurable fuel savings–as much as 2% in cruise percent–without requiring additional applications or changes to pilot workflow.

GE Aerospace’s Fuel Insight is used by airlines around the world to monitor and improve fleet fuel efficiency, and FlightPulse is currently in use by approximately 20% of the world’s commercial pilots, giving them personalized visibility into their own operational performance after every flight.
